Top Three Books That Need To Be Adapted!

Hello everyone, and welcome to another blog post. Today, I thought we could do something slightly different. Still related to film, but I wanted to talk about books I have read and which books I would love to see be adapted into movies (or series.) So, sit back, relax, and enjoy.

Okay, an interesting fact about the book industry is that it is worth 6 billion pounds in the UK alone. So, where this information about the book industry being dead, is beyond me? In fact, some of the best films ever made have all been Adaptations of books. So here are my top three books that need to be adapted for the big screen.

Number one

Blake Crouch. Dark matter

Blake Crouch is one of my favourite sci-fi writers right now. His book dark matter, recurrence, and his new book Upgrade releasing this year. Have always been page-turners. But I think it's safe to say that his most significant success is dark matter. Here is the blur of the book. “Are you happy in your life? Those are the last words Jason Dessen hears before the masked abductor knocks him unconscious. Before he awakens, he finds himself strapped to a gurney, surrounded by strangers in hazmat suits. Before, the man he's never met smiles down at him and says, "welcome back." In this world he's woken up to, Jason's life is not the one he knows. His wife is not his wife. His son was never born. And Jason is not an ordinary college physics Professor. Is it this world or the other that's the dreams? The answer lies in a journey more wondrous and horrifying than anything Jason could've imagined…”

Now I don't know if this should be a TV series or a film, either way, I think this sci-fi masterpiece needs to be made. With so many twists and turns in ever chapter, you begin to question the characters Jason, his wife, his friends, very own reality. As well as question some aspects of science and even learnt concepts of it. Such as the multi-verse. You are probably sick of that word, especially because Marvel throws it left, right and centre. But since everyone knows the multi-verse concept, let's use that to build on a hype train. The way Blake crouch writes Jason is so unique and realistic. It feels as if this is what anyone else would ask themselves or even think if they were in his situation. In fact, the way Blake crouches even answer the question of what we would do if we saw ourselves from a different reality is outstanding. The book itself takes the audience to some dark places. Meaning it's going to bring audiences to multiple dark realities. And I guess in some way explain the concept of time reality and probability.

Last year, I promised myself to read one book every month. And dark matter helped me keep that promise and even helped me exceed my pledge. So even if this film or TV series is not made, I still highly recommend you pick up this book and read it for yourself. For a person who wasn't into Reading as much, this book helped me or helped me transition into Reading more.

Number two

Star Wars: The Darth Bane series

Drew Karpyshyn, Darth Bane series is a Must-Read for any Star Wars fan. Based on the Star Wars legend continuity. Most of the Star Wars Legends books are non-Canon. However, it doesn't stop Disney from taking bits and pieces and making it canon, examples being Darth Revan and Darth Bane. In a series of books. We explore the Darkside, the way of the Sith, and the creation of the rule of two. We see Darth Bane's upbringing and how he was thrown into a Galactic war and encountered the brotherhood of darkness. And learnt the ways of the Darkside. How he came up with the concept of the rule of two. His thoughts on the Sith and His betrayal of the brotherhood of darkness.

We even see how he picks his apprentice and how she must grow more potent than her master. Becoming more dangerous and cunninger. After all, there can only be two. One to master the power and the other to crave it. The rule of two was made to strengthen the dark side by concentrating its power. So perhaps this might sound a bit biased, but I am a massive Star Wars nerd. And I honestly believe that with the recent movies released. They need to just take a moment, make material out of the legend's continuity. Simply because it is far superior. You learn so much about the Sith in just the first book. In the second book, you realise the consequences of maintaining that power. And the third book is basically obtaining that power and continuing the legacy of the Sith. I can imagine a good scene when Darth Bane acquires the obelisk armour. And through his research of understanding the dark side of the Force and attempting to create a Sith Holocron. He discovers that his boosting Powell is draining him. But there is a scene where he fights Sith assassins and a so-called Sith apprentice. But it is how the book describes the battle, the small movements that he does that hooks you in. As well as doing an outstanding job in explaining light sabre forms. This can honestly help fans new and old understand more about the lore that helped them fall in love with Star Wars. And with success of the Mandalorian. Boba Fett. The clone wars. I honestly think it's time. Though there are rumours of a new series that will explore the Darkside. To fans such as myself. It's not the rule of two.

Number three

Alex Michaelides, The silent patient

Oh my God, this book. If you want to read a good thriller or mystery, then pick- up this book, or better yet, turn this into a bloody film. When I was reading this book, I honestly had my mouth wide open because of the twist, not just one, but multiple. Allow me to read you the blur. Alicia Benson. Lived a seamlessly perfect life until one day six years ago when she shot her husband in the head five times. Since then, she hasn't spoken a single word. It's time to find out why. If you are not hooked by that blur.

I'm sorry there is something wrong with you. So, the story involves the psychotherapist Theo Faber and his attempt to cure Alicia Berenson, a 33-year-old woman who killed her husband, she was a well-known painter and her husband a renowned fashion photographer, famous due to his unique and distinctive shooting style? His attempt to make her talk and even cure her through. Different approaches. Is what will; one hook you and attempt to understand why he is so committed. But the more he is committed to her, the darker the secrets are revealed. Honestly, you must read this book. I don't want to say too much because I don't want to spoil it, but I remember reading chapter after chapter and not putting this book down. There will be moments where you question, if certain like characters are the villain, if so, why? Until you find out that the doctor's personal life is not what it seems his friends is not what it seems everything is connected to this woman somehow. You begin to question yourself whether he is obsessed. Is he in love with her, what’s going on with him, Will he make a breakthrough? And if he does, what's going to happen with the other doctors. Every day something doesn't add up. If this book was adapted into a worthy screenplay, it could easily be this decade's gone girl or even better. I would love to see this film made for the big screen. Hell, if I found out, there was a trailer of this book. I would probably have a little book-nerd-scream.

Honourable mentions.

Iris Chang: The rape of Nanking.

This to me could be considered one of the most disturbing books that I have ever read. The book is a non-fiction, proper story explanation and accounts of the events that happened. The subject matter is known as the rape of napkins. Obviously, this would have to be a documentary. But I only recently found out about this book. And I have heard the stories related to this event. But I was not, Informed, or prepared for how insane it really is. One of the best ways to describe this book, is when we are introduced to a figure, who is a hero during this terrible moment in human history. The man was the supervisor of the Nazi party and was a great supporter of Hitler. Even this man said, what he saw on those days was disturbing, heart-breaking and evil. keep that in mind.

Warhammer 40,000: Eisenhorn Series

Let’s be honest with ourselves. Hollywood is running out of ideas and needs something new. Disney can’t always be relying on Marvel Superheroes forever. So, I suggest Warhammer. its massive within the table top gaming scene. However, for people like me, who don’t have to play it. Reading about its lore, is amazing. With multiple factions, aliens, and demons to explore. One of the best ways to launch the franchise is with the series named Eisenhorn. Based On the popular book series of the same name. It was written by Dan Abnett, set in a Science Fantasy world. We follow Gregor Eisenhorn a Inquisitor of the Ordo of Xenos. In his time serving the Inquisition, he has been considered a traitor and has fought tooth and nail to prove his innocent and loyalty to the golden throne and the emperor of mankind. On his journey we will meet a strong group of likeable characters and see the twisted world of Warhammer through the eyes of an inquisitor, which even the space marines must serve and obey. The set design of this series alone, would be amazing to see (Practical as much as possible of course.) As well, introducing new people to the franchise and making a ton of money, through mechanising alone. So, get it done. Or hire me to do it. Only a suggestion.

These are the books I feel need to be adapted now. What do you want to see adapted in the next coming years. Leave a comment with your list. I look forward to reading your choices. Don't forget to follow me on social media, for more updates.
